Windhelm Military Camp

Imperial siege camp outside Windhelm with tents, three catapults, grindstones and an anvil, used as the staging point for the Battle for Windhelm.

The Windhelm Military Camp is the Imperial Legion‘s siege camp outside Windhelm, the capital of the Stormcloaks. It exists for one job: the Imperial siege of the city. Our sources describe it only briefly, so this page sticks to what is actually documented.

What you’ll find

  • Several tents and three catapults.
  • Imperial soldiers.
  • Grindstones and an anvil for basic smithing.
  • A coin purse lying near one of the tents.

Quests

Battle for Windhelm – the camp serves as the starting point of the Imperial siege of the city.

Tips

Before the siege begins, use the grindstones and anvil to sharpen your weapons and touch up your armor – it’s the last chance before a long street fight. And don’t forget the coin purse by the tent; free money is free money, even in wartime.

Good to know

The camp doesn’t pack up after the siege. Tents and catapults stay put, and the catapults can still fire, so the place lingers as a reminder of the battle. The source material gives no exact position or layout details beyond this, so treat the camp as a functional siege site rather than a place to explore.
