Severin Manor

Fully furnished Redoran-style manor in Raven Rock, the only home you can own on Solstheim, awarded for free after completing the quest Served Cold.

Severin Manor is a large Redoran-style house in the northwest corner of Raven Rock, between the market square and the Earth Stone. Added with the Dragonborn expansion, it is the only property you can own on Solstheim – and it costs nothing. It starts out as the home of Vendil Severin and his family, but after you finish Served Cold at Ashfallow Citadel, Lleril Morvayn hands you the keys. Their loss, your new basement.

What you’ll find

  • An entrance room with a cooking pot at the fireplace.
  • A big underground level with a small bedroom and garden (ash yams and scathecraw), plus barrels of ingredients and vegetables.
  • A complete smithing workshop: smelter, workbench, grindstone, tanning rack, weapon racks, training dummies and a trough of iron and steel ingots.
  • An alchemy lab stocked with Solstheim ingredients and six lots of fire salts.
  • An arcane enchanter surrounded by six weapon plaques and three shield racks – more than any other house – and plenty of common soul gems.
  • A master bedroom with four mannequins, eight weapon racks, four chests, three display cases, bookshelves and a safe.

Quests

Complete Served Cold to receive the manor. The fire salts in the lab also come in handy for Stoking the Flames.

Tips

The house arrives fully upgraded, so there is nothing to buy – just move in. Storage downstairs is generous, but the lighting is gloomy; drop torches or put them in open containers and they will be lit on your next visit. Several bookcases only let you use one shelf. The lab is great for Solstheim recipes but light on mainland ingredients, so bring your own. A few players report mannequins misbehaving with armor, so keep valuables in chests instead.

Good to know

  • It plays dungeon music, which says something about the previous owners.
  • No housecarl, no steward and no child beds; spouses reportedly can only move in if they are one of the three Dragonborn marriage candidates.
  • Solstheim has belonged to Morrowind since 4E 16, which explains the missing housecarl.
