Ash Spawn are warriors made of hardened volcanic ash that burst out of the ground across southern Solstheim. They’re the work of the necromancer Ildari Sarothril, who animates them with Heart Stones.
Where to find them
The ash plains of southern Solstheim. They attack Raven Rock during “March of the Dead” and show up in the Temple Ancestral Tomb in “Clean Sweep”. Highpoint Tower, visited in “Old Friends”, is where the threat comes from.
Good to know
Ash Spawn are neither alive nor undead, so Detect Life and Detect Undead don’t reveal them – the Aura Whisper shout does, which can set up a sneak attack before they rise. After “From the Ashes” you can buy a spell tome from Talvas Fathryon to summon your own.
