Elder Othreloth is a Dunmer priest and the keeper of the temple in Raven Rock on Solstheim (Dragonborn). Once an Ashlander who carried his faith from tribe to tribe across the wastes of Vvardenfell, he is now an Elder of the Reclamations: the Daedric trio of Azura, Boethiah and Mephala, whom he calls the true Tribunal. The old living gods Almalexia, Sotha Sil and Vivec he dismisses as false prophets who stole the people’s devotion.
Where to find them
He lives and works in the Raven Rock temple together with his apprentice, Attendant Galdrus Hlervu. If you need supplies rather than sermons, he will point you to the attendant.
Quests
Othreloth gives Clean Sweep. The ancestral tomb beneath the temple has been overrun by ash spawn, and he is horrified that they rose from the ashes of the very ancestors laid to rest there. Offer to help and he gives you the key. Expect a crowd of nine or ten ash spawn below; clear them out and return for a gold reward that scales with your level.
Personality & relationships
He is calm, devout and very sure of himself. Ask him about funeral customs and he explains that Dunmer burn their dead so they can return to the ash, treating death as a beginning rather than an end. He also drills Galdrus on doctrine in regular lessons and corrects him sharply when the young man slips and uses the old name, the Anticipations. Not every Dunmer shares his views: Aphia Velothi was thrown out of the temple for disagreeing. Like many townsfolk, he goes oddly vague when asked about Miraak, recalling only an unpleasant dream about building something at a temple on the island.
