Tekla is a Nord maid in Falkreath, working for the former Jarl and current thane Dengeir of Stuhn. She does her job faithfully, and in return gets scolded about the state of the hall and accused of feeding his secrets to his nephew, Jarl Siddgeir.
Where to find them
Usually at Dengeir’s House, where she lives and works alongside Dengeir and his brother Thadgeir. She also stops by Dead Man’s Drink. If she becomes steward, she moves into the Jarl’s Longhouse.
Quests
Side with the Stormcloaks and finish Rescue from Fort Neugrad, and Dengeir becomes Jarl again – and promptly names Tekla his steward. She explains that he trusts nobody else, so it had to be her. She is nervous about it: running a house is one thing, running a whole hold in a time of war and dragons is quite another.
Personality & relationships
Tekla is polite, a little shy and loyal to her difficult employer, asking visitors not to judge him too harshly because he’s old but means well. Thadgeir is kind to her and tells her she does a fine job. Valga asks after her and tells her not to put up with more than she has to, and Narri would like to hire her at the tavern. With Narri she also debates the war, wondering whether the ban on Talos worship is worth fighting over.
Good to know
- She is essential and can’t be killed.
- If you kill Narri, Tekla sends hired thugs after you. The game files list Narri as her sister and Solaf as her sweetheart, though neither is mentioned in dialogue.
- Hearthfire: if Helvard dies early and you can’t buy the Lakeview Manor plot from the court, Tekla in the longhouse can sell it.
