Saffir

Saffir is a Redguard bookworm in Whiterun, wife of Amren and mother of Braith, whose argument with her husband sets up the quest Amren's Sword.

Saffir is a Redguard woman living in Whiterun with her husband Amren and their daughter Braith. Her great passion is books. She imports them when she can, because she finds most Nord writing far too bawdy and violent, and she gets visibly annoyed when you make her lose her page.

Where to find them

She spends most of her time at home with her nose in a book. When she’s out, she mostly wants to get back home and keep reading.

Quests

Saffir plays a part in starting Amren’s Sword. You can overhear the couple arguing: Amren has tracked down the bandits who have his family’s heirloom sword and wants to hire help, while Saffir says they can’t afford it and threatens to leave him if he goes. Amren then turns to you for the job.

Personality & relationships

Saffir is blunt and practical about money, and parenting isn’t her strong suit. Braith keeps trying to talk to her, about a boy or anything else, and keeps getting told “not now” or sent to ask her father. Saffir would rather her daughter read more and fight less, and feels girls should learn to look after themselves.

Good to know

She will send hired thugs after you if you steal from her or kill Amren.
