Gjak is a Nord miner in Dawnstar. He swings his pickaxe at the Iron-Breaker Mine, the iron operation run by the sharp-tongued Beitild, and he is one of the quieter faces among the town’s mining crowd.
Where to find them
Look for him at the Iron-Breaker Mine on the edge of town. Gjak is famously dedicated to the job: he barely ever goes to bed, so you can catch him working at almost any hour while the rest of Dawnstar is tossing and turning.
Personality & relationships
Gjak is a simple man with simple pride. As far as he is concerned, iron is the perfect ore for a Nord to dig – solid, honest and dependable, much like he likes to think of himself. Don’t expect deep conversation or a quest; he has a rock face to attend to.
Because he works for Beitild, he is technically on one side of the bitter rivalry between Iron-Breaker and the Quicksilver Mine owned by her estranged husband Leigelf. Gjak himself stays out of the drama and just keeps digging.
Good to know
If you’re looking for the more talkative Iron-Breaker workers, try his colleagues Karl and Irgnir, who both have plenty to say about their boss and the nightmares troubling the town.
