Fus Ro Dah. If you know one thing about Skyrim, it’s probably this. Unrelenting Force is the first shout every Dragonborn learns, and it never stops being satisfying to send a bandit flying off a cliff.
How to get it
The first word, FUS, is on the Word Wall in Bleak Falls Barrow, and it unlocks automatically when you absorb your first dragon soul in Dragon Rising. The Greybeards at High Hrothgar then teach you RO during The Way of the Voice and DAH after The Horn of Jurgen Windcaller – and unlock them for you, so you don’t need extra dragon souls. That makes it the first shout most players master.
Tips
- Big creatures like dragons and mammoths can’t be thrown, but they are staggered – it even interrupts a dragon’s breath attack.
- Ethereal creatures, children and Dragon Priests aren’t affected at all.
- Mages can block it with a ward.
- Cliffs and ledges are your best friends: fall damage does the rest.
Effect per word
1–2 words: staggers enemies in front of you.
3 words: throws them backwards; they take damage on impact and from falls.
