Silda the Unseen is an old Nord beggar who drifts around the streets of Windhelm asking passers-by for a few coins. She looks like she has nothing at all, but her nickname is a hint: she knows more than a little about lifting purses, and she’s willing to share that knowledge for a fee.
Where to find them
Early in the morning she is often by the forge in front of the Blacksmith Quarters, warming her hands. Otherwise she wanders the Stone Quarter, turning up near the main gate and sometimes outside the Palace of the Kings. Candlehearth Hall is listed as her home base.
Quests
In Blood on the Ice she is standing at the scene of Susanna the Wicked‘s murder together with Calixto Corrium. When you question her, she says she heard Susanna scream and ran over, but got there too late to see the killer. She is essential until she has played this witness role. Like every beggar, she also accepts a single gold coin as charity.
Services
Silda trains Pickpocket up to expert level. She clearly suspects you’re planning something shady, but your money is as good as anyone’s.
Personality & relationships
Her lines are a mix of pleas for spare change, reminders that the Divines favour the generous, and complaints about sleeping outside in the wind. She also admits to being nervous at night with the Butcher on the loose.
Good to know
Drop a piece of clothing near her and she’ll ask if she can keep it, yet clothes you slip onto her by reverse pickpocketing won’t replace her rags. Give her charity and she may later hand you a small gift as a friend, and if she dies after you’ve helped her you can receive an inheritance of 100 gold.
