Omluag

Overworked Breton smelter hand in Markarth who asks you to get his brutal Orc boss Mulush off his back, and can be married afterwards.
“Can’t you see I’m working? Beat it.”

Omluag is a Breton laborer in Markarth who sweats at the city smelter under the watchful – and heavy – hand of Mulush gro-Shugurz. Low pay, scalding metal and an Orc boss who hits first: he has plenty to complain about, and he will.

Where to find them

By day he works at or around the smelter; at night he heads back to the Warrens.

Quests

A Few Words with You: Omluag asks you to talk Mulush into easing up on the workers. Persuade, bribe or brawl your way to a deal, then report back. He pays you what he says is a week’s wages, so be gracious about it.

Follower & marriage

Once you’ve helped him, Omluag can be married if you’re wearing an Amulet of Mara.

Personality & relationships

He has worked beside Hathrasil for over ten years and is endlessly annoyed that she replies “Mmmhmm” to everything. He blames the Nord rulers and the Silver-Bloods for the workers’ misery, mourns the people lost to the Forsworn’s cause, and lists the old smelter crew for you: Degaine broke some bones, Eltrys quit and Cairine is too sick to work. If you escape Cidhna Mine, he’s impressed – you’re the talk of the Warrens.

Good to know

Kill Omluag and you may get a thank-you letter (with a reward) from Azzada Lylvieve, one from Mulush, and an inheritance notice. Kill Azzada instead and Omluag sends you thanks and a reward offer. He may also die defending you from the city guards if you commit a crime, or during a vampire attack on the city (Dawnguard).
