Bolgeir Bearclaw is a Nord warrior and the housecarl of Jarl Elisif the Fair in Solitude. He is her personal bodyguard at court, and you can spot him by his steel plate armor, worn without the helmet.
Where to find them
Inside the Blue Palace, close to the Jarl.
Quests
Bolgeir has no quest of his own, but his name can come up in the Companions job Hired Muscle and in the Thieves Guild job The Fishing Job.
Personality & relationships
Bolgeir is gruff, practical and not interested in small talk. He’d prefer you kept your weapons away, and any actual questions should go to the steward, Falk Firebeard. He also admits the Jarl has asked him to stop saying which court attendants he would like to punch.
Under the bluntness he is very loyal. He warns Elisif that General Tullius keeps taking Solitude’s guardsmen for the war – five more lost, and soon nobody left on the walls. He sees himself as the last line of defence and the walls as the first. He hints that the general may not have her best interests at heart and is clear that he will never be made into an Imperial soldier. His place is at her side. When Elisif dreams up a grand military parade, Bolgeir and Falk talk her out of it: to Bolgeir, it would just make her an easy target for a Stormcloak assassin.
