Ri’saad is a seasoned Khajiit trader who leads a caravan that moves between Whiterun and Markarth. He has visited Skyrim many times before, and the other Khajiit caravans credit him with bringing them here. His reasoning is simple: dragons and civil war scare off the competition, and war is good for business.
Where to find them
His caravan doesn’t go inside the city walls. Instead it camps outside Whiterun or outside Markarth. He travels with fellow Khajiit Atahbah and Ma’randru-jo, guarded by Khayla.
Quests
- Deliver Moon Sugar to Ri’saad (Thieves Guild): bring him a satchel of Moon Sugar along with the Guild’s offer of an alliance. He accepts, sends his regards to Tonilia, and from then on every Khajiit caravan merchant will fence your stolen goods.
- If Malborn survives the embassy party, he later hides in Windhelm from a Khajiit Thalmor assassin. Ask Ri’saad about him and he denies the man is one of his, and makes it plain he has no love for the Thalmor or any Khajiit who serves them.
Services
Ri’saad buys and sells general goods. After the Moon Sugar deal he also acts as a fence.
Personality & relationships
He is polite and businesslike, and grumbles that Nords keep Khajiit out of their cities by branding them thieves and skooma dealers. He hints that he isn’t welcome in Elsweyr or Cyrodiil either, probably because of his Moon Sugar dealings. Ask about his homeland and he paints a warm picture of Elsweyr’s deserts and swallowed cities, then stops because he misses it too much. With Atahbah he plays the stern boss, telling him to keep his Moon Sugar cravings quiet in front of customers. The Windhelm author Adonato Leotelli says he came to Skyrim with Ri’saad’s caravan.
Good to know
Ri’saad is essential, so bandits and dragons can’t take your fence away. His caravan is also mentioned in the book Ghosts in the Storm.
