Nordic Barnacles grow almost entirely underwater – on shipwrecks, sunken ruins and rocks along the cold northern coast. You’ll need to dive a bit, but they reward you with Waterbreathing, Regenerate Health and Fortify Pickpocket.
Alchemy effects
The effects are listed in the order you discover them by eating the ingredient or using it in a potion. Two ingredients make a potion when they share at least one effect.
- Damage Magicka – a poison effect that drains the target’s Magicka on the spot. Also on: Butterfly Wing, Chaurus Eggs, Daedra Heart, Eye of Sabre Cat, Glow Dust, Hagraven Feathers, Hanging Moss, Human Heart, Jarrin Root, Luna Moth Wing, Namira’s Rot.
- Waterbreathing – lets you breathe underwater for a while. Also on: Chicken’s Egg, Histcarp.
- Regenerate Health – makes your Health regenerate faster for a while. Also on: Garlic, Juniper Berries, Luna Moth Wing, Namira’s Rot, Vampire Dust.
- Fortify Pickpocket – makes pickpocketing easier for a while. Also on: Blue Dartwing, Orange Dartwing, Slaughterfish Egg.
Tips and trivia
Waterbreathing potions made from the barnacles themselves make diving for the rest a lot easier.
