Reach Stormcloak Camp

Secluded Stormcloak staging ground on a river cliff northeast of Karthwasten, where Galmar Stone-Fist directs the campaign during Compelling Tribute.

The Reach Stormcloak Camp is a hidden staging ground for the Stormcloaks, tucked against a cliff along the river northeast of Karthwasten. This is where Galmar Stone-Fist sets up shop when the rebellion turns its attention toward Markarth. If you are wearing blue, it is a friendly base with supplies; if you are not, it is a nest of angry Nords.

What you’ll find

  • Galmar Stone-Fist, giving orders for the campaign in this region.
  • A Stormcloak Quartermaster who buys and sells goods.
  • Crafting stations: anvil, workbench, grindstones and an alchemy lab.
  • Two horses that are yours to take if you have sided with the Stormcloaks.
  • A secluded position on the river embankment, out of sight of the main roads – exactly what you want from a rebel staging ground.

Quests

Tips

The camp only makes sense while the war in the west is still open, so plan to visit while Galmar is actually here and the region has not yet changed hands. Free horses are rarely this easy: as a Stormcloak, just help yourself to one of the two mounts here and save the trip to the nearest stable. Stock up with the quartermaster and use the anvil before the big fights of the campaign. Nearby Liar’s Retreat is just to the east if you fancy a detour into a Falmer-infested cave between assignments.

Good to know

Like every Stormcloak camp, this one packs up and disappears once the Stormcloaks take the region, or if it is handed to them in the peace talks during Season Unending. Its job is done at that point, so grab anything you need before then.
