Galmar Stone-Fist

Galmar Stone-Fist is Ulfric Stormcloak's housecarl and the hard-as-nails second-in-command of the Stormcloak army in Windhelm.

Galmar Stone-Fist is the second-in-command of the Stormcloaks and housecarl to Ulfric Stormcloak. He commands the rebel army when it marches on Imperial cities and forts, makes sure every recruit has armor and has taken the oath, and has no patience for anyone who won’t fight.

Joining the Stormcloaks

If you join the rebellion in Windhelm, Galmar tests you first: he sends you to Serpentstone Island, northeast of the College of Winterhold, to kill an Ice Wraith. Pass, and he becomes your commanding officer for the rest of the civil war questline, including the hunt for the Jagged Crown.

Personality

Galmar is blunt, merciless towards the Empire and fiercely loyal to Ulfric – the two are old friends and don’t bother with ceremony. His men respect him for his courage and for looking after them.

Meet him in Sovngarde after defeating Alduin, and he holds no grudge, even if you fought for the Legion: eternity, he says, is too long for that.
