Urag gro-Shub is the Orsimer librarian of the Arcanaeum, the library of the College of Winterhold. He takes his job very seriously: mistreat his books and he promises angry Atronachs. Even becoming Arch-Mage won’t soften him much – but bringing him an Elder Scroll will.
In the quests
- Elder Knowledge: Urag gives you two books on the Elder Scrolls and points you to their strange author, Septimus Signus. Later he’ll buy the Elder Scroll from Alftand for 2,000 gold.
- Hitting the Books: in the College questline he tells you which books are needed to research the Eye of Magnus.
- Dawnguard: he pays 1,000 gold for each of the four ancient Falmer tomes from the Forgotten Vale and gives you a translation. If you sold him the Elder Scroll and need it back for “Scroll Scouting”, it’ll cost you more than he paid.
