Olava the Feeble is an elderly Nord fortune teller who lives in Whiterun. Ask her for a reading on an ordinary day and she’ll claim her mystical energies aren’t up to it yet, then cackle about trepanning. Show her the right token, though, and she suddenly finds the strength.
Where to find them
Her house is tucked behind Breezehome, and during the day she often sits on the bench out front. She can also turn up walking the streets or at the Bannered Mare.
Quests
Olava is the target of the miscellaneous objective Locate the Assassin of Old, which is part of the Dark Brotherhood storyline. Hand her Olava’s Token and she realizes you are a friend of Gabriella. Her vision covers a snowy refuge lit by the star of dawn (the Dawnstar Sanctuary), new family members she describes as a child of night and a stalker of the sands (Babette and Nazir), and blood before any of that. Then comes the useful bit: a route through Deepwood Redoubt to Hag’s End, where an assassin of old has left his gear, the ancient shrouded armor, for you. She is essential until that objective is complete.
Services
Fortune telling, though in practice only the Dark Brotherhood reading is on offer.
Personality & relationships
Olava plays the doddering old seer but clearly has history with the Brotherhood. Pester her after the reading and she may swear by Sithis. A note in the Smuggler’s Den also hints that she deals skooma for Ahkari’s caravan. Her vision says nothing about Cicero, even if you spared him.
Good to know
- If she catches you inside her house after you’ve picked the lock, she may refuse to talk to you, which blocks the reading. Waiting outside her home between 6 and 9 PM can coax her out for a chat.
- Her race shows up as “Elder” in the game files, the generic race used for old characters.
