Hilde is an old Nord woman living in Riverwood and the proud mother of Sven, the village bard. The game files list her race as “Elder”, but her name and her opinions leave no doubt she’s a Nord through and through.
Where to find them
Around Riverwood and at home. The first time you walk into the village she is out in the street, shouting that she saw a dragon as big as a mountain fly over the barrow, while Sven tries – and fails – to calm her down.
Personality & relationships
Hilde adores her son and thinks he has the voice of a snow lark, which she says is the one good thing he got from his father. She is sure Camilla Valerius will pick Sven in the end and has some unkind words for the other suitor, Faendal. She also nags soldiers in town to talk Sven out of joining the war by telling him how bad the food is.
She is not shy about disliking the other races living in Skyrim, and grumbles that her homeland has gone to the cats, lizards and elves. She is also the one spreading the news that the Riverwood Trader was robbed.
Good to know
- Steal from her house, kill Sven or help Faendal win Camilla over, and she may send hired thugs after you.
- If you help Sven with his love life, Hilde may hand you a gift now and then.
- If Sven is your follower and you start attacking villagers, he refuses to fight his mother.
