Frodnar is a young Nord boy in Riverwood, son of the lumberjack Hod and the mill owner Gerdur, and nephew of Ralof. He owns a dog called Stump and is the village’s self-declared chief prankster.
Where to find them
Around Riverwood, often on the bench outside the Sleeping Giant Inn with Dorthe and Stump, or playing tag with them through the streets.
Personality & relationships
Frodnar thinks everyone in Riverwood is far too serious and has made it his job to fix that. His mother wants him working at the mill; he has other plans. Hod, meanwhile, is his biggest fan: he asks about the latest rumours – a coin nailed to Lucan‘s doorstep, bugs in the inn’s stew, a cow’s udders glued shut – and Frodnar proudly owns up to all of it while dad cheers him on.
He is best friends with Dorthe even though her family leans Imperial, and he hopes to join the Stormcloaks when he is old enough. When Ralof turns up after Helgen, Frodnar fires off questions about his axe and Ulfric before being sent to watch the south road for soldiers.
Good to know
- Cast a spell where he can see it and he asks you to make him invisible so he can pull better pranks.
- If Hod and Gerdur die he is sent to Honorhall Orphanage and can be adopted (Hearthfire). Stump doesn’t come along to your house – he finds his way back to Riverwood.
- Steal from his home and he may send hired thugs after you.
