Faendal is a Bosmer – a Wood Elf – who works at the lumber mill in Riverwood for Gerdur and Hod. He is a skilled archer, and he has a crush on Camilla Valerius. Unfortunately for him, so does the bard Sven.
How to recruit Faendal
Side with Faendal in “A Lovely Letter”. Either show Camilla the fake letter Faendal gives you, or show her the one Sven wants you to deliver. Either way, Camilla’s affection goes to Faendal – and he will gladly follow you afterwards.
As a follower
Faendal is an archer with Light Armor, Sneak and One-Handed, levelling with you up to level 30. He is one of the first followers available, just outside Helgen, which makes him a great early-game choice.
Training and more
- Trainer: adept-level Archery training (up to 50) – even if you side with Sven.
- Marriage: no.
- Steward: can look after a Hearthfire homestead.
- Blades: can be recruited into the Blades.
