Gerdur is a Nord lumberjack who owns and runs the lumber mill in Riverwood together with her husband Hod. They have a son, Frodnar. Because the mill keeps the village going, Gerdur is more or less Riverwood’s leader – she even pays the taxes, although the land itself belongs to Jarl Balgruuf.
Before the Storm
Gerdur is the sister of the Stormcloak soldier Ralof. If you followed him out of Helgen in Unbound, he brings you to her in Before the Storm. She gives you a key to her house, offers you supplies and asks you to go to Whiterun and ask the jarl for help against the dragon.
The lumber mill
Gerdur buys firewood, and chopping wood at the block next to the mill is one of the simplest ways to earn a little gold early in the game. If you are looking for work, her husband Hod is the one to talk to.
