Quicksilver Mine

Small quicksilver mine on the Dawnstar waterfront with five ore veins, friendly miners, a smelter outside and the Smithing skill book Cherim’s Heart of Anequina.

Quicksilver Mine sits in the western part of Dawnstar, down by the water and the dock. It is a working mine with friendly miners, five quicksilver veins and a smelter right outside the entrance – a handy stop if you want quicksilver ore for Smithing. The locals who work for the nearby blacksmith swear it beats Iron-Breaker Mine, though Leigelf clearly has a bias.

What you’ll find

  • Five quicksilver ore veins spread over several levels and ramps; two of them sit side by side on a wall at the back of the lowest level.
  • Two loose pieces of quicksilver ore: one near a mining cart on the bottom floor and one on a shelf on the second level near the entrance.
  • Non-hostile miners and plenty of pickaxes lying around.
  • A smelter outside the entrance, so you can turn ore into quicksilver ingots on the spot.

Tips

Miners like to stand at a vein and pretend to work it. You can’t shove them off by interacting, but waiting a while usually makes them move on. Ore here respawns roughly every thirty in-game days, so it’s worth a return trip whenever you pass through Dawnstar.
