Double-Distilled Skooma

Double-Distilled Skooma is an extra-strong skooma that restores 50 Stamina, hidden in a Windhelm club and wanted badly by Stands-In-Shallows.

Double-Distilled Skooma is a concentrated version of the drug that restores 50 points of Stamina, double what a normal bottle of Skooma gives. In game terms it is little more than a decent stamina drink, but in Windhelm it is the center of a small side quest about an addict who can no longer get by on the ordinary stuff.

Effects

  • Restores 50 points of Stamina

Like every potion it weighs 0.5. Its base value is 44 gold and the form ID is 0003F4BD. Drinking it yourself is an option, but the bottle is far more useful as the quest item Stands-In-Shallows is waiting for.

Where to find it

The bottle sits in the New Gnisis Cornerclub in Windhelm’s Gray Quarter, tucked among boxes behind the stairwell on the upper floor. It is there whether or not you have the quest, and it reappears every few days after you take it.

Related quest: Some Light Theft

Stands-In-Shallows, a skooma addict in Windhelm, is suffering from withdrawal and wants something stronger than what he normally uses. Speak to him in the Argonian Assemblage or on the docks outside and he sends you to the Cornerclub to fetch this bottle for him. The job is a quiet theft rather than a fight, so a careful approach through the club pays off.

Good to know

  • With the quest active, the Clairvoyance spell will point the way to the bottle.
  • Taking it for Stands-In-Shallows has consequences: Malthyr Elenil will send hired thugs after you.
  • The Dawnguard variant Redwater Skooma restores 40 Stamina, so this Windhelm brew is actually the stronger of the two.

Where to find it

  • New Gnisis Cornerclub, Gray Quarter, Windhelm: among boxes behind the stairwell on the second floor
  • Respawns every few days
