Beitild is a Nord miner who owns Iron-Breaker Mine in Dawnstar. She and her husband Leigelf recently split up, and now each of them runs a rival mine in the same small town – a marriage breakup with pickaxes.
Where to find them
In Dawnstar, usually at or around Iron-Breaker Mine, where she can be heard “motivating” her miners by threatening their jobs.
Quests
Contract: Kill Beitild – She is one of the side contracts for the Dark Brotherhood. Tell her someone wants her dead and she immediately assumes it was Leigelf – and admits the feeling is mutual. Once she is a target, she stops buying ore from you. A dragon attack on Dawnstar can conveniently do the job for you.
During Waking Nightmare she grumbles that her miners are stumbling around half asleep, and has heard that a priest of Mara is looking into the nightmares.
Services
Beitild pays gold for every piece of iron ore you bring her, so her mine is a handy place to turn a pickaxe into pocket money.
Personality & relationships
Bossy, proud and very loud about it, Beitild insists Iron-Breaker earns twice – or, depending on her mood, three times – what Leigelf’s Quicksilver Mine does. Her worker Karl is less excited about being drafted into a marital war and reminds her they are miners, not soldiers; she tells him to get back to work or lose his job. She is no fan of Skald the Elder either, mocking how he talks about Ulfric. Miner Bodil also works for her.
Good to know
- If Leigelf dies, Beitild discovers she misses the oaf far more than she expected – and may send a hired thug after whoever killed him.
- Kill her unseen but get spotted near her body, and the guards will still come after you.
