The Nervous Patron is exactly what his name promises: a twitchy Nord man lurking in Candlehearth Hall in Windhelm, who wants someone dead and very much does not want to do it himself. He is one of the contract-givers who keep the Dark Brotherhood in business after the main questline.
Where to find them
He stays at Candlehearth Hall, wandering around the inn while he waits for his business to be taken care of.
Quests
The Dark Brotherhood Forever: this repeatable quest can send you to him as a client. He pays you a leveled amount of gold up front to assassinate a target, then keeps pacing around the inn until the job is done. Once the target is dead, his part is over.
Good to know
He is essential, so he can’t be killed – no matter how much his fidgeting gets on your nerves. In his pockets he carries an iron dagger and a copy of A Kiss, Sweet Mother – fitting reading for a man shopping for an assassin.
