Dravynea the Stoneweaver

Dravynea the Stoneweaver is a Dunmer mage who keeps Kynesgrove’s Steamscorch Mine from collapsing, teaches Alteration and can be married after a frosty errand.
“The mine’s always on the verge of collapse. Good thing I’m around to keep it up.”

Dravynea the Stoneweaver is a Dark Elf mage living in Kynesgrove. She was a mage back in Morrowind and seems to have come to Skyrim as one of the refugees after Red Mountain erupted. Now she puts her magic to work keeping the tunnels of Steamscorch Mine from caving in – hence the nickname.

Where to find them

Working alone in Steamscorch Mine, or sitting by herself at the Braidwood Inn when she takes a break.

Quests

Dravynea’s Frost Salts – ask her what she does in town and she complains about the heat in the mine. She uses frost salts for a potion that makes it bearable, but she has run out. Bring her some and she will, slightly surprised that you actually followed through, give you a free lesson in Alteration.

Services

Dravynea is an Expert-level Alteration trainer. Ask her where to learn more about magic, though, and she flatly sends you to the College of Winterhold.

Follower & marriage

After you deliver the frost salts she becomes a marriage candidate; wear an Amulet of Mara and talk to her.

Personality & relationships

Her first words to a stranger are basically “keep walking”, but she is polite enough once you get talking. She feels most locals look down on Dunmer and counts Roggi Knot-Beard as the only half-decent one; Roggi even offers to deal with Kjeld if he crosses the line. Kjeld, for his part, keeps poking around her wards chasing malachite veins while she tries to stop the steam channels from blowing his leg off. She also means to visit Windhelm more often to see how the other refugees are doing.

Good to know

For all her talk of the mine being one step from collapse, nothing happens to Steamscorch if she dies or leaves.
