Uraccen

Forsworn prisoner in Cidhna Mine who gives new inmates frank advice, points you to Grisvar's shiv and still thinks about the daughter he left behind.

Uraccen is a Breton Reachman serving a life of hard labor in Cidhna Mine beneath Markarth. His story is a grim one: when the Nord nobleman he served was stabbed to death one night, Uraccen knew he’d be blamed even though he hadn’t done it, so he ran and joined the Forsworn. The killing he did after that was very much his own work. Eventually he was caught and sent to the mine to dig silver.

Where to find them

He is one of the inmates inside Cidhna Mine.

Quests

No One Escapes Cidhna Mine: Uraccen is one of the first prisoners to give a newcomer the lay of the land. He explains that nobody reaches Madanach without going through his Orc bodyguard Borkul the Beast, and that your best bet is a shiv – Grisvar the Unlucky supposedly has a spare. If you throw in your lot with the Forsworn, he joins the breakout and helps you get out.

Personality & relationships

He’s a hardened convict with a dark sense of humor and a lot of practical tips: skooma is the only real currency in the mine (he’ll explain it’s made from Moon Sugar), the guards come once a week to collect ore and bodies, and no ore means no food. He believes life was better before the Nords and their laws. His daughter Uaile was left behind when he was taken, and he admits he’s lost track of how old she must be.
