Filnjar is a Nord blacksmith who lives in his own house in the small mining village of Shor’s Stone. Nobody officially handed him the job, but he acts as the village’s de facto leader.

- Mine or Yours – Filnjar asks you to clear the frostbite spiders out of Redbelly Mine.
- Truth Ore Consequences – He is the recipient of Hafjorg‘s delivery to Shor’s Stone.
- Hired Muscle – Farkas may send you to teach him a lesson by fighting him with your fists until he yields.
Services
His smithy sells leveled weapons and armor, plus ingots and other common smithing materials.

Filnjar becomes a marriage candidate once you have completed Mine or Yours.
Personality & relationships
Filnjar is stubborn and down to earth. When Grogmar gro-Burzag warns that the mine is drying up, Filnjar insists he can smell the ore still in there and tells Grogmar he is free to leave if he disagrees. When Odfel moans about sharing a house with Grogmar, Filnjar tells him to stop bellyaching until they can build another one. He also worries about how hard the civil war is hitting miners.
Good to know
Filnjar has a scripted chat with Grelka about her parents up in Darkwater Crossing, but since she never visits Shor’s Stone and he never goes to Riften, it never actually plays out. It was most likely meant for Sylgja, whose parents live there. If Filnjar dies after Mine or Yours, a courier brings you a Letter of Inheritance with 100 gold.
