Odfel is a Nord miner who lives in Shor’s Stone. He’ll gladly explain that mining iron takes real strength and specially reinforced tools – he claims to have broken five or six pickaxes in a few months before getting hold of Rocksplinter, a pickaxe he says cuts through stone like butter.

At Odfel’s House in Shor’s Stone, which he currently shares with the Orc miner Grogmar gro-Burzag.
Follower & marriage
Odfel is a marriage candidate: wear an Amulet of Mara and talk to him. Note that a known bug can stop him from becoming available, even once all the Shor’s Stone quests are done.
Personality & relationships
Odfel is not enjoying the house share. He grumbles to Filnjar about how Grogmar lives, only to be told to quit complaining until another house is built, and he nags Grogmar directly to clean up his half – which ends with the two putting coin on who can haul more iron in a day. He also keeps asking Sylgja out. She keeps saying no, and when he presents himself as handsome, strong and smart, she tells him she wants someone who cares about her more than about himself.
Good to know
Don’t go looking for Rocksplinter: the pickaxe he brags about never actually appears in the game.
