Lars Battle-Born

Lars Battle-Born is a bookish Nord boy of Whiterun's Battle-Born clan who is bullied by Braith and hopes you can make her stop.

Lars Battle-Born is a Nord boy who lives with his family in the Battle-Born house in Whiterun. His father is Idolaf Battle-Born. Lars is a reader rather than a fighter, which his tough Nord family does not appreciate – they think of him as a little milk drinker.

Where to find them

He is usually out in the city streets or sitting at his desk in his room at home, surrounded by books with a sweet roll by his side.

Quests

Bullying Braith – the girl Braith keeps picking on Lars and demanding septims she knows he doesn’t have. Talk to him and you can get a small task to make her stop. If you succeed, he thanks you, delighted that she won’t even look at him any more.

Personality & relationships

Lars is gentle, honest about not being able to fight, and a bit starry-eyed about the Dragonborn. His best friend is Mila Valentia, and the two used to get into mischief, climbing onto the roof of Dragonsreach to look for bird eggs and tipping over the Gray-Manes’ ox. His father kept catching them, so he has mostly given that up.

He also counts Olava the Feeble as a friend; she has told him things will improve once he starts standing up for himself. His grandmother Bergritte worries about him, but he begs her not to go and talk to Braith’s mother.

Good to know

According to dialogue from Braith, the bullying is because she has a crush on him.
