Dragon’s Tongue

A fiery orange flower from Eastmarch's volcanic fields – Resist Fire, Fortify Barter and Two-handed.

Dragon’s Tongue is a flame-coloured flower that loves the warm volcanic ground south of Windhelm. The name fits: it’s one of the best sources of Resist Fire, which comes in handy once dragons start breathing on you regularly. Fortify Two-handed and Fortify Barter round it off.

Alchemy effects

The effects are listed in the order you discover them by eating the ingredient or using it in a potion. Two ingredients make a potion when they share at least one effect.

  1. Resist Fire – reduces the fire damage you take for a while. Also on: Berit’s Ashes, Bone Meal, Elves Ear, Fire Salts, Fly Amanita, Mudcrab Chitin, Snowberries.
  2. Fortify Barter – gets you better prices from merchants for a short time. Also on: Butterfly Wing, Hagraven Claw, Tundra Cotton.
  3. Fortify Illusion – makes your Illusion spells stronger for a while. Also on: Dwarven Oil, Mora Tapinella, Scaly Pholiota, Taproot.
  4. Fortify Two-handed – makes your two-handed weapons hit harder for a while. Also on: Fly Amanita, Troll Fat.

All four effects are beneficial, so Dragon’s Tongue is safe to throw into any potion.

Tips and trivia

Its Fortify Illusion is very weak compared with other ingredients, so don’t count on it for that.
