Scaly Pholiota

A fungus growing on dead birch trees in the Rift – Fortify Illusion and Fortify Carry Weight.

Scaly Pholiota is an orange, shaggy fungus that grows on dead birch trees – which means the golden forests of the Rift are where you’ll find most of it. Fortify Illusion, Regenerate Stamina and Fortify Carry Weight are all useful; Weakness to Magic is the only harmful effect.

Alchemy effects

The effects are listed in the order you discover them by eating the ingredient or using it in a potion. Two ingredients make a potion when they share at least one effect.

  1. Weakness to Magic – a poison effect that makes the target more vulnerable to magic. Also on: Creep Cluster, Dwarven Oil, Jazbay Grapes, Rock Warbler Egg, Salt Pile, Taproot, Torchbug Thorax.
  2. Fortify Illusion – makes your Illusion spells stronger for a while. Also on: Dragon’s Tongue, Dwarven Oil, Mora Tapinella, Taproot.
  3. Regenerate Stamina – makes your Stamina regenerate faster for a while. Also on: Bee, Fly Amanita, Mora Tapinella.
  4. Fortify Carry Weight – raises how much you can carry for a while – handy when you are over-encumbered. Also on: Creep Cluster, Giant’s Toe, Hawk Beak, River Betty, Wisp Wrappings.
