The Reach Imperial Camp is an Imperial Legion field camp in the mountains northeast of Markarth. It sits west of the Shrine of Peryite, east of Ragnvald, north of the Lover Stone and south of Bthardamz. Legate Emmanuel Admand is in charge. For a neutral or Imperial-friendly traveller it is a handy little outpost with a merchant and crafting stations in the middle of nowhere.
What you’ll find
- Legate Emmanuel Admand, the camp’s commander, along with Imperial soldiers.
- An Imperial Quartermaster who will trade with you, as long as you are neutral or on the Legion’s side.
- Crafting stations: an alchemy lab, anvil, grindstone and workbench.
- A tabletop map of Skyrim in the largest tent, which can fill in new map markers.
- Two chests.
Quests
The camp is tied to the civil war questline. Whether it exists at all depends on how that war is going: if you are an Imperial and winning, the camp will not appear; if you are with the Stormcloaks, it is always there. See Liberation of Skyrim for the wider campaign.
Notable items
- Civil War: Map of Skyrim on the command table.
- Two chests.
Tips
Check the map table in the big tent – it is a free way to reveal locations you have not found yet. The quartermaster is a good place to unload loot from the surrounding ruins, and the anvil and workbench mean you can upgrade gear before heading into Ragnvald or Bthardamz. If you have thrown in your lot with the Stormcloaks, remember you are walking into an enemy camp and plan accordingly.
Good to know
Military camps like this one come and go with the war, so do not be surprised if it has vanished by the time you return. Use it while you can.
