Bone Hawk Feathers

Bone Hawk Feathers come from Dawnguard’s skeletal bone hawks; six of them plus a skull craft the Bone Hawk Amulet.

Bone Hawk Feathers (Dawnguard) are plucked from bone hawks, the undead skeletal birds that came with the Dawnguard expansion. Their one forge recipe is the Bone Hawk Amulet, which takes six feathers and a single Bone Hawk Skull. Valued at 7 gold and weighing 1 each, they are cheap and light, so feel free to hoard them until you have enough.

How to get it

No feathers are placed loose in the world and no merchant sells them in the game data, which means hunting is the only way. Bring down bone hawks and loot their remains; each kill tends to give a skull and some feathers.

Six feathers per amulet means you will need several hawks before you can craft it, so the feathers are what actually decides how long this side project takes. Ranged attacks or a quick destruction spell make the hunt far less frustrating than swinging at birds in mid-air.

Once you have the amulet, any leftover feathers are pocket change at best – sell them or leave them in a chest as a souvenir of your bird-chasing days.

Used to craft

Bone Hawk Feathers appears in 1 recipe in the game files.
