Mages are dangerous because of their Magicka, and this family of poisons takes it away. Coat a weapon with one and the next hit drains the target’s Magicka by 30 to 130 points, depending on the strength of the bottle. Against a necromancer, a hagraven or a conjurer that can mean the difference between facing a fireball barrage and facing a caster with nothing left to throw. Stealthy characters who open fights with a poisoned arrow or dagger get the most out of them.

Where to find them
Ready-made poisons appear as loot in the game world and in characters’ inventories, and potion sellers can carry them as well. Because the family is leveled to the Dragonborn, low-level characters mostly see the weak versions, while the Malign and Deadly bottles show up later in the game.
Brewing your own
Poisons are made with the Alchemy skill just like potions, and you apply them to a weapon from the inventory before striking. Twelve ingredients share the Damage Magicka effect: Butterfly Wing, Chaurus Eggs, Daedra Heart, Eye of Sabre Cat, Glow Dust, Hagraven Feathers, Hanging Moss, Human Heart, Jarrin Root, Luna Moth Wing, Namira’s Rot and Nordic Barnacle. Combine any two at an alchemy lab to brew your own.
Tips
Use these before engaging a caster rather than mid-fight, so your first hit already strips their reserves.
