Wulf Wild-Blood

Wulf Wild-Blood is the Skaal First Hunter, a master Two-Handed trainer in Skaal Village who asks you to find his lost brother Torkild.
“The less we disturb the land and the beasts within it, the more we respect the wishes of the All-Maker.”

Wulf Wild-Blood is a Nord and the First Hunter of the Skaal, living in Skaal Village on Solstheim (Dragonborn). The title means he leads the village’s hunters when they track big game, and it also quietly means he is the best hunter they have. He will tell you that himself, though he doubts an outsider could fully understand.

Where to find them

When you first reach the village, Wulf is one of the entranced Skaal labouring on the structure around the Wind Stone under Miraak‘s control. Once you use Bend Will on the stone during The Fate of the Skaal, he is freed and goes back to village life.

Quests

In Filial Bonds, Wulf talks about his brother Torkild, with whom he once shared the hunt. Torkild had a wild streak and a hunger for strength, and one day he left and never came back. Wulf fears he joined the werebears of the glacier and asks you to look for him – carefully, since Torkild was a fierce fighter even as a man.

Services

Wulf is a master trainer in Two-Handed, able to teach the skill up to level 90.

Personality & relationships

His hunting philosophy is all about restraint: before killing any beast, ask whether you truly need to. The Skaal take deer, bear and horker for meat and skins, and only cull wolves when they threaten the village, thanking each animal for what it gives. He sees werebears as a twisted curse of Hircine and a corruption of the All-Maker’s work. Curiously, he also says that to hunt a wolf you must become one, and tells you that you have the blood of wolves and the heart of a bear.

Young Aeta idolises him and dreams of being a hunter just like Wulf. When Storn Crag-Strider sacrifices himself, Wulf bids him farewell and promises the Skaal will never forget it.

Good to know

Despite being a devout follower of the All-Maker, he sometimes wishes you well in the name of ‘the Gods’. His name is a nod to ‘wolf’, and he shares it with Wulf, an avatar of Talos.
