Umurn is a young Orc in the stronghold of Dushnikh Yal, son of Chief Burguk and Gharol, the stronghold’s Forge-Wife. His mother has taken him on as her blacksmith’s apprentice, so he spends his days at the forge learning the family trade.
Where to find them
Working with Gharol at the smithy outside the stronghold’s mine.
Personality & relationships
Umurn hopes to one day forge a weapon worthy of a chief – and quietly hopes that chief might be him. His forge sessions with Gharol are pure Orc parenting: she tells him to pour his hatred into the steel, and when he complains that the metal won’t bend, she points out that the steel can’t hear him whining. He apologizes and gets back to work. They do agree on one thing: nothing beats an Orc blade.
His full sister Lash gra-Dushnikh ran away from the stronghold to Karthwasten. His half-brother Nagrub has his own designs on the chieftainship and plans to fight Umurn for it someday, while Shel thinks both boys are too weak to rule.
Good to know
- Kill any of the women of Dushnikh Yal and Umurn will hire two thugs to come after you. The contract on them says you killed his “beloved”.
