Nagrub is an Orc ranger living in the stronghold of Dushnikh Yal. He’s the son of Chief Burguk and Arob, the stronghold’s Hunts-Wife, who has taken him on as her apprentice. That makes him a hunter too, and one who is very keen to prove it.
Where to find them
During the day he patrols the stronghold. At night he sleeps inside Burguk’s longhouse.
Personality & relationships
Nagrub is eager – maybe a bit too eager. In his conversations with his mother he talks about how much he looks forward to the blood of all the kills he’ll make, and Arob has to remind him that a real hunter is patient. On other days the two simply agree that the hunt looks good, and he says he can’t wait to show off his skills.
His ambitions go beyond deer and elk. In true Orc fashion, he hopes one day to fight his brother Umurn and his own father for leadership of the stronghold. Burguk, who won the title by killing his own father, would probably be proud.
Not everyone thinks he’s up to it: Shel, Burguk’s favorite wife, is convinced both Nagrub and Umurn will look weak next to the son she plans to give the chief.
