Sergius Turrianus is an Imperial mage who lives and works at the College of Winterhold as its enchanting specialist. As he points out, enchanting is one of the few things that keeps the College connected to the rest of Skyrim: the local Nords may dislike mages, but they like enchanted weapons and armour just fine.
Where to find them
During the day he works in the Hall of the Elements. At night he sleeps on the second floor of the Hall of Countenance.
Quests
- Enchanting Pick-Up – a repeatable job: Sergius sends you to fetch a weapon from a customer so he can enchant it.
- Restocking Soul Gems – also repeatable: he needs a batch of soul gems of various sizes, and the number and size he asks for depends on your level.
Finish one of his jobs and he hands you a reward, while warning you not to get sentimental about it.
Services
Sergius trains Enchanting up to Expert level. He won’t enchant your gear for you, though: ask and he tells you to work it out yourself or borrow a book from Urag gro-Shub, because he is busy enough already.
Personality & relationships
He is brisk, practical and a little sarcastic – a craftsman who sees the trade side of magic more clearly than most of his colleagues. He is happy to teach, less happy to do your homework, and he plainly expects students to stand on their own feet.
Good to know
- He wrote the in-game book Enchanter’s Primer.
- If he dies while you are carrying an item for a pick-up quest, that item gets stuck in your inventory.
