A Primer on Enchanting by Sergius Turrianus explains the basics for College students: you learn an enchantment by destroying an enchanted item at an Arcane Enchanter, an item can only hold one enchantment, and soul gems power the work – with skill, you need less soul energy for the same effect.
Skill book
Enchanter’s Primer is a Enchanting skill book. The first time you read a copy, your Enchanting skill goes up by one point – later copies of the same title don’t give anything extra, so there is no need to carry them around.
Notes
It’s written for College of Winterhold students, and Sergius himself teaches Enchanting there.
