Glover Mallory is a Breton blacksmith who runs the forge in Raven Rock on Solstheim (Dragonborn). He is also a member of the Thieves Guild, the brother of Delvin Mallory and, as a hidden note reveals, the father of Sapphire. Not bad for a man who insists he just came out here to seek his fortune.
Where to find them
He is at the blacksmith’s shop when you first arrive in town. Like his neighbours, he also turns up at the Earth Stone, working on it and worshipping it in an eerie trance until the town is freed in Cleansing the Stones.
Quests
- An Axe to Find: Crescius Caerellius has ‘borrowed’ his Ancient Nordic Pickaxe again. Bring it back and Glover lets you keep it, since it hasn’t done him any good in years; if Crescius has lost it, Glover pays you for the effort. He claims he traded for it in Skaal Village, though it’s implied he stole it.
- Paid in Full: Thieves Guild members are sent to recover the Bonemold Formula from Esmond Tyne in Castle Karstaag Caverns. Afterwards his basement opens up, holding rare items such as the Blackguard’s Armor, a Thief Cache and a letter to Sapphire. Deliver it to her in the Ragged Flagon and she rewards you with a unique Exquisite Sapphire.
- It’s All in the Taste: he is one of the possible recipients of Geldis Sadri‘s sujamma.
- The Fishing Job: he can be picked as the mark in this Thieves Guild radiant job, even though it’s his own brother who hands it out.
Services
Glover is a blacksmith and trader. He is the only merchant on Solstheim whose business you can invest in, and the only one on the island who takes stolen goods, but only after you have invested and picked up the Fence perk.
Personality & relationships
Glover says he learned bonemold repair from a talented Dunmer armorsmith named Vanryth back in Riften, then moved here to put those lessons to work. Much of his time goes into patching up gear for the Redoran Guard without pay, which Adril Arano apologises for, while Glover hints he’ll recover his losses in due time. Captain Veleth is convinced he smells of trouble, and a clumsy remark about Fethis Alor‘s daughter goes down very badly. Asked about his brother, he only says Delvin finds things people are looking for.
