Ennis is a Redguard farmer in Rorikstead. He owns a farm where Reldith does much of the hands-on work, while Ennis looks after the business side. Between them they turn a profit from the crops and, impressively, from selling the cattle’s dung by the wagon load.
Where to find them
Around his farm in Rorikstead, although he also travels to Whiterun now and then to make deals. He is essential, so he can’t be killed.
Quests
A Night to Remember – After a legendary drinking session with Sam Guevenne, your memory trail leads to a furious Ennis. According to him, you stole his prize-winning goat Gleda and sold her to a giant. To find out what happened next you can persuade or intimidate him, try to buy him off with 1,000 gold (he may refuse), or simply go and get Gleda back – she will follow you home, since you apparently smell like her favourite fermented feed. Either way he tells you about a note you left behind, which points you towards Ysolda in Whiterun.
Personality & relationships
Ennis sees himself as the brains of the operation: Reldith is the hardest-working farmer in the village, but he is the one with the business sense. He says she is like a mother to him. He is always cooking up new ideas – selling the soil along with the dung, offering bulk discounts, or making the trips to Whiterun himself – while Reldith keeps postponing her answer, worried about the war and the dragons.
His reputation is growing: Jouane Manette mentions that the tradesmen in Whiterun talk about him, and Rorik congratulates him on a good market.
