The Sweet Roll is a small iced bun and probably the best-known food in Skyrim. It is part of the base game, weighs only 0.1 and has a base value of 2 gold. In practice it is a cheap, tasty snack.
Effects
Eating one restores 5 points of Health. It is a simple, instant restore with no timed bonus.
Five Health is modest, about the same as a Grilled Chicken Breast or a Salmon Steak. It is worth eating when you find one, but sweets like the Long Taffy Treat restore more at the same weight.
How to make it
With Hearthfire installed you can bake Sweet Rolls in an oven, which you build in a Hearthfire home. One bake needs:
- 1x Salt Pile
- 1x Jug of Milk, 1x Sack of Flour and 1x Butter (see Cheese, Dairy and Baking Supplies)
- 1x Chicken’s Egg
The result is one Sweet Roll. Without Hearthfire there is no way to make them.
Where to find it
In the base game Sweet Rolls cannot be crafted, so every one has to be found or picked up in the world. Hearthfire owners can also bake them as above.
Good to know
Five ingredients for 5 Health is not efficient healing, so baking Sweet Rolls is more about flavour than survival. Cooked meat with a single salt pile often heals as much or more.
