Vegetable Soup is one of the most practical dishes a traveller can cook in Skyrim. It needs no meat and no salt, just four common vegetables, and every character knows the recipe from the start of the game. It is worth 5 gold and weighs half a unit.
Effects
The soup restores 1 Health and 1 Stamina every second for 720 seconds, which is a full twelve minutes. There is no instant heal, but over its duration it adds up to far more than most cooked food. The Cooking guide points out that long-running effects like this cut down on how often you need to open a menu to heal, and keep you able to run and power attack for longer.
How to make it
Use any cooking pot or spit. One bowl takes:
- 1x Cabbage
- 1x Potato
- 1x Leek
- 1x Tomato
All four are covered on the Fruit and Vegetables page. Cooking spots include homes in Riverwood, Dragonsreach in Whiterun and Embershard Mine.
Where to find it
Cooking it yourself is the dependable way to get a bowl. Since the recipe is known from the very start, you can make it at the first pot you come across, as long as you have the four vegetables.
Good to know
The same vegetables go into several other soups: Cabbage Potato Soup, Tomato Soup and Venison Stew all share part of the list.
