The Wreck of the Strident Squall is a beached ship on the southwest coast of Solstheim, added with the Dragonborn expansion. It lies south of Old Attius Farm and southwest of Hrodulf’s House. Reavers have walled it off and moved in, and among their plunder is a book collector’s holy grail – though perhaps not the kind of holy you’d expect.
What you’ll find
- A small stockade built by Reavers on the landward side of the wreck, its gate flanked by burnt bodies on stakes – the local welcome committee’s idea of decor.
- Leveled Reavers and a Reaver Lord.
- Two small wooden archer platforms either side of the top of a ramp leading up to the ship’s deck.
- A cooking pot over a campfire and a Heart Stone vein inside the stockade.
- The cargo hold below deck, with a large hole in its side, holding the main loot.

Tips
The archers on the platforms cover the ramp, so take them out first – with a bow of your own or by sneaking in close – before you march up to the deck. Inside the stockade, mine the Heart Stone vein while things are quiet. Once on board, head into the hold for the folio and the strongbox; it is easy to grab the chest and miss the shelf. If Cindiri asks, you obviously only read it for scholarly reasons.
