Gestur Rockbreaker is a Nord miner who acts as foreman at Stonehills, the small mining camp that serves Rockwallow Mine. He owes everything to the mine’s owner Bryling, who gave him a job when he had little else to live for, and he has thrown himself into it ever since.
Where to find them
He works the mine and lives at Stonehills, keeping an eye on the other workers.
Services
Gestur will buy all the iron ore you are carrying. Selling to him counts as one of the favours towards becoming Thane of the hold.
Personality & relationships
His work is his whole life, and he would rather not discuss his past. He greets strangers by explaining that the mine already has an owner and is not for sale, and then asks them to stay out of his workers’ way. He makes rounds to check on the crew, encouraging Jesper and the others and asking how his ‘scaly friend’ Teeba-Ei is getting on. His philosophy on the bitter cold is simple: work harder and you stay warmer.
Good to know
Every so often he wanders over to Halted Stream Camp for no apparent reason, stands around for a bit, and then walks back home.
