Rockwallow Mine is the iron mine at the heart of Stonehills, the mining settlement in Hjaalmarch. You’ll find the entrance a short way east of the bottom of the steps up to Sorli’s House. It’s a quiet, working mine – no bandits, just ore, miners and a free skill book.
What you’ll find
- Four iron ore veins, often worked by the miners: up the ramp to the southwest, at the end of the southeast tunnel, up the ramp straight ahead to the east, and at the end of the northeast tunnel.
- Owner Bryling, a Nord official who lives in Solitude; the mine is overseen by Pactur.
- Miners Jesper, Teeba-Ei, Gestur Rockbreaker and Swanhvir.
Quests
Selling ore mined here to Gestur Rockbreaker counts as helping the people of Hjaalmarch for Thane of Hjaalmarch.

Tips
Grab the skill book on the way in, mine the four veins, then sell the iron ore straight to Gestur – that’s a free skill point and a step toward a thaneship in one short visit. If a miner is camping your vein, just wait them out.
