Caius was an Imperial soldier of the Imperial Legion posted at Helgen. He is one of the unlucky background faces in the opening of Skyrim, and among the first to die when Alduin shows up.
Where to find them
You meet him only in Helgen during the opening sequence. The prisoners, mostly Stormcloaks caught in an Imperial ambush near the southern border, had been ordered executed by General Tullius. Before the job was done, Alduin attacked, and Caius was hurled to his death by the dragon.
Quests
Caius appears in Unbound, the opening quest, as one of the Imperials caught up in the dragon attack.
Good to know
Most players never learn his name. It only comes up if you play an Imperial, side with Ralof and use the Voice of the Emperor on an Imperial soldier in Helgen – who then tells you, shaken, how the dragon simply grabbed Caius. Not to be confused with Commander Caius in Whiterun.
