Iddra is a Nord innkeeper who runs the Braidwood Inn in Kynesgrove. She is married to Kjeld, the town’s boss, and is mother to Kjeld the Younger and a quiet girl named Froa.
Where to find them
Behind the counter of the Braidwood Inn – except during the dragon attack, when she is running the other way.
Quests
- A Blade in the Dark – as you arrive in Kynesgrove, Iddra comes fleeing down the road, telling you a dragon flew over town and landed on the old burial mound. She has no intention of hanging around to see what it does. Follow her and she runs all the way to the Windhelm Stables to cower until the dragon is dead. Afterwards she returns to the inn.
- A Few Words with You – Iddra would like you to convince Roggi Knot-Beard to sort out the drinking debt he owes the inn.
Services
Rents a room for 10 gold and sells a range of food and drink.
Personality & relationships
Iddra has a low opinion of magic and will tell you so, even while pointing you toward Winterhold or Ulfric’s court wizard. Most of her energy goes into parenting: she tries to rope little Kjeld into salting cheese curd, scolds him for throwing his sister into a goat pen, and keeps him away from the river because of soldiers’ horses. Froa is never actually seen in town.
Roggi is a regular at her bar, and the two chat about her kids – he jokes that the boy takes after his father and the girl after her – and about his endless love of mead.
Good to know
Steal from her inn and she may send hired thugs after you.
