The Sundered Towers are a pair of ruined towers on a hill southeast of Karthwasten, reached at the top of the climb from Red Eagle Redoubt. Said to be the birthplace of the Forsworn hero Red Eagle, the site still matters a great deal to his people, and they guard it accordingly. Come here for Red Eagle’s legend, bounty work or a well-equipped workshop – after the residents have been persuaded to leave.
What you’ll find
- Forsworn and/or one or more Hagravens.
- Two towers joined by a drawbridge, which you lower with a pull chain in the west tower.
- An iron door on the east tower that is barred from the inside. You can approach the hill from the east, but the only real way in is from the west.
- A throne, an altar and several tents, one of them containing an alchemy lab.
- A full crafting setup: alchemy lab, forge, anvil and workbench.
Quests
- The Legend of Red Eagle – one of the Forsworn here carries Red Eagle’s Sword and a Red Eagle Tower Key. Take the sword to Rebel’s Cairn.
- A possible target for bounty quests.
- The ghost at Old Hroldan may send you here to find Hjalti’s Sword.
- One of the places where Logrolf the Willful can be found during The House of Horrors.
Notable items
- Red Eagle’s Sword, carried by a Forsworn.
- Red Eagle’s Rite, on the altar/table between two braziers across from the throne.
- The Legend of Red Eagle, on a table in a tent near the throne.
- Reality and Other Falsehoods – Alteration skill book, on a barrel in the tent with the alchemy lab.
Tips
Hagravens love to hang back and fling spells, so prioritise them before they turn the fight into a fireworks show. Once the hill is quiet, the forge, anvil, workbench and alchemy lab make this a handy field workshop for patching up gear. If Red Eagle’s Rite clips into the pillar on its table, a blast from an area spell like a fireball can knock it loose.
